need to bore??
i just got an ls block and it has about 140,000 miles on it. i want to use my pr3 pistons in it and aside from regular wear after that kind of milage it doesn't seem to have any problems. i was wondering if i can just hone it and use new rings or should i bore it out and get different pistons?
you're going to have to mic the cylinder walls to know for sure. If the pistons have worn a taper into the cylinder walls, you're going to have to bore it. A good manual will show you how to take readings properly and what the minium variance should be.
