Need Advice on possible distrubutor
Does this sound like a dist. problem: while after driving the car yesterday for a few hours, I went home, and after a bit came back out got in the car, went around the corner and at the light trying to go, there was a backfire and the car shut off in first gear. Engine will not turn over after numerous attempts .but inspected the dist. rotor cap and there does not seem to be a burnt smell or look wrong in any way. It has never been replaced on a 98 recently rebuilt b-18c engine, sound like it should be time for it to have gone out? If you need more info, please just ask. Thanks for any help.
Searched the forum for dist. ?'s and didn't find what I was looking for. Any response would be helpful. Want to make sure that's the problem before a new one is purchased. Thanks much.
