The mysteriouse clunking. NEED SOLUTION!!!
lol ok, ive had this problem ever since i got my lude and its farkin annoying ! Anyway the noise/clunking/thumping sounds like its coming from the rear passenger suspension. i can hear/feel it when i go over bumps and potholes in the road.
Anways ive tried pretty much everything, ive goten a new strut, new bushings, checked the strut mount, checked the strut mount colar bushing etc. I dont know wtfffff it is. Except one thing, the upper control arm bushing sleeves in that corner are shaped differently than the ones on the other corners.. but i dont know. also could it be the endlinks(stock) on my sway bar?
HELP!? This is on a 93 Prelude srv btw.

check the swaybar mounting in great detail. replace the swaybar bushings with urethane while youre at it, and get some upgraded end links.
Make sure all bolts are tight on the top. Make sure all bolts are tight on the bottom. Bounce up and down on the ride, locate the clicking. Did it happen all of the sudden?
Hi there
I get exactly the same problem in my 95 prelude. I've been told by a honda mechanic mate of mine that its very likely the ball joint in the top arm of the suspension. You'll need to get a new kit to replace this, which I will be doing as soon as! Have you had the car lowered too? When I had mine done the problem went away, but now its back and I was told its from the ball joint wearing away in its socket again. A quick test is to shake the wheel to and fro and if you get the knock you'll know its that!
Hope you get it sorted!
