I have a 92 civic si hatch that has started acting up real funny. The other day I went to start my car and it would crank but wouldn't start. I turned the key off and turned it back on and noticed that the fuel pump wasn't priming up when the ignition was turned on. After several attempts at trying to get it started it finally buzzed and started and ran fine. I drove to a gas station to buy gas and when I shut off the car and restarted it, the darned thing wouldn't prime again.

I think its the main relay solder joints b/c when I pulled it apart there were joints that had micro fractures in the solder. I just resoldered them and re-installed my relay.

My question is: Was it indeed the main relay? I haven't driven the car since the fix but it seems to start okay now.

My car only has 70, 000km's so I'm assuming that a honda fuel pump wouldn't crap out so fast.

In any case the main relay did have cracks in the solder joint so at least that has been repaired.

Sounds like it. Checking for cracked solder joints is a good way to verify it. Sounds like you got it. Resoldering usually takes care of them.
