Is my head warped
Today I installed my new head. It had a basic port and polish job with all skunk valve train including valves. The head had 0 miles on it and I picked it up from a board member. This was for my 01 GSR and it was a P72 head.
The install went very good until we started the car. As soon as the thermostat opened the exhaust began smoking. I figured it had to do with something in the headgasket area. I pulled the plugs to find that #2 had coolant all over it and the rest looked ok. I did a compression check and my numbers were 210-165-210-210.
Tomorrow I will be taking it all back apart and seeing what is going on in there. My question is, can a head be warped only in the middle like that and both surrounding sides of it are ok? The headgasket that we used was a Brand new mugen gasket. Also we used ARP studs and torqued them down to specs and torqued them in sequence. While I was tightening them I noticed something strange. I always go back and double check my studs after the sequence just to verify that they are still tight. On the exhaust side on #2 cylinder I noticed when I double checked it it was a tad loose while the rest were tight still. I paid no attention to it at the time but once we figured what cylinder the problem was it kinda made me wonder.
Just give me your opinions on what it might be and what I should do. Like I said I will be pulling the head again in about 8 hours so hopefully its something stupid like a defective headgasket.
I will be posting this in the All Motor section as well as the Tech section
Thanks Guys.

it sounds like its warped but if you have coolant on your spark plug its possible you have a crack in your head or block.
as for the compression test toss a tps of oil in that cylinder and if the numbers read higher its your piston rings, if not its eiter warped or cracked. Goodluck bro
