Is my 2nd fan working?
I have the regular dual fan behind radiator. After my car has been driven for awhile, and I turn it off the fan comes on. Of course. Anyway, I noticed that at no point does my second fan come on. My temp never goes over normal operating temp, but for safety I want the second fan working as well. How can I check to make sure it is still running properly. Thanks.

One of the fans is the radiator fan and the other is the condenser fan. Try turning your ac on and see if it comes on, not sure if its always on when the ac is on or only sumtimes.

Yeah, after I posted I got to thinking about that. Thanks, you cleared it up. Would it be a good idea to convert both fans to work at the same time, I rarely use AC because of our marie northwest climate - seattle

Both fans are supposed to work at the same time- turning the A/C on will show you which one is not working- then you can troubleshoot it.

not on all cars, im not sure about his 1990 prelude since i dont have one but my moms civic has one fan for the radiator and one for the AC condensor. my Camry has two fans for the radiator and the condensor is in front of the radiator. so on the camry both fan would come one when the engine needs cooling or the ac is on. this may be the case for the prelude, im not sure cause i dont have one. the point is that both fan dont usually turn on the sametime on all cars, it all depends on how it was made and how it was supposed to function.
