Hey whats up i just got a new muffler put on monday of this week and i live in nebraska and we have snow on the ground and its kinda wet on the streets but not that bad so i was just lookin at it and noticed that where they welded on the hanging braces it is rusting already but the thing is that they welded the hanging brackets right on to the muffler and not on the plate the was welded to the muffler for the hanging braces so now the muffler is rusting and the braces and it was just monday i had put on. is this normal or not because i'm not really sure but i don't want my muffler to rust out which it looks like it well going at this rate. my muffler is also looks like it was coated with croam or somthing because it is shiny thanks

 

you could clean off the rust completly with steelwool and rust remover then get some high temp clearcoat or just primer (if its in a spot you cant see) and spray over and it should protect it....
