Default MSD Sport Compact Ignition Questions.

Hey guys, I drive a 1991 CRX Si with a B18a/B16a LS/VTEC. The car originally had a DOHC ZC in it before I purchased it. He gave me lots of the parts that he had on the car when it had the ZC, some of them including the MSD Sport Compact Ignition (Part No. 6300) MSD "Blaster 2" Coil (Part No. 8202) which says for use with MSD 6- and MSD -7, and the ZC distributor with a sticker on it that says "PRO Cap MSD" on it (not sure if this is required). Also some fancy high voltage MSD spark plug wires

Anyways I was wondering.
1. Can I use this stuff with my LS/VTEC? (I assume I can't use the distributor cap and the MSD Plug wires
2. What sort of benefit would this give me if I actually COULD use it?
If I can use certain parts of it, which specifically could I use and what would I need to get?

answering question
1. you can use the ignition and the coil
2. benifits would be a better spark
my advice would be----hondas make a really good stock ignition system already so sell that stuff and buy something like headers. that particular ignition sells for around 220 and the coil is like 40. so sell them and buy some headers off of ebay.

Lately I've been fowling my plugs like no tommorow (LS/VTEC is ghetto tuned using a FPR and a FP Gauge until I can get some good management). It's so rich that I'm constantly pulling the plugs to scrape them down (otherwise it misses)...

Would installing the MSD fix this?

i dont really know if it would fix it or not, but you can try it. or try this, buy diffrent plugs. i had colder plugs in my motor for a while when i use to spray, and then when i sold my nos kit i still had the colder plugs in it which made my car sputter around 7-8 grand. my plugs were fouled too. then i just bought regular plugs from napa, the ngk's and that fixed it.

mmm, no the msd wont fix the car running rich; you can turn down your fpr though.
Msd ignition is not needed and a lot of people have problems with ignitors burning after msd install
