Default msd inline pump question

i have a question about the msd inline fuel pump.......

the fittings on my fuel cell, filter and what not are all -AN style fittings, but the the msd has "barb" style fittings on it. msd says the inlet is 3/8 and the outlet is 5/16. can you repace the fittings on the pump, or would it be safe to just stick the fuel line onto the pump and use a small clamp to secure it? i haven't bought the pump yet, so maybe this is something that would be obvious if i had it in hand........

how does everyone else have theres setup yet

thanks!!

i have used it with the clamps before and it held fine, you can get an fitings if you like, it would look good, don't get me wrong, but the hassle of finding all the fittins is a pita
