mounting generic axle-back on dc2
I have an axle-back for a dc2 which I bought used. I took it to a shop to get installed and was told I couldnt mount it and need the entire down-pipe.
The piping on the exhaust which mounts to the down pipe is completely flat and I was told the end of my stock downpipe is rounded so I need a new down pipe. Also, does it matter that the stock downpipe is 2" and the axle-back is 2 1/2". I always thought you could mount just the axle-back to the stock downpipe.
any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

worst case scenario is the axleback is too long/short - needs a section removed/added
or
the flanges don't match up - they should be able to weld 1 or both with new flanges pretty easily.
as for the flat & rounded, i'm not sure without a visual. usually they'll have a rounded donut gasket that will jam inside the piping and create a seal.
but again this is all routine stuff for an exhaust shop. i'd go somewhere else

Hoping that where you went was an exhaust shop. If it was, than they suck.
