I've been reading alot on this board, and it came to my mind what kind of engine does the 2001 honda civic have. There's alot of talk about the b18b's. Can anyone tell mee what kind i do have??. or is the b1ab. The most common type.

Unless you have a swap, it's a D16. Otherwise it sounds like you have the B18B. Take a picture.

Never heard of a b1ab before.

Why don't you look at the engine code on your motor.

 

All 2001 Civics have d17's.
DX/LX = 115hp 100trq
HX = 118hp 111trq
EX = 127hp 114trq

Numbers are from comparing various sources and are probably in a 2-3 point range.
