motor is in limp mode
my 01 ls motor has a crank sensor out. but the computer is a pr4. so my question is, is the pr4 obd1? if it is then do i need an obd1 crank sensor? i just wanna make sure before i buy it off ebay. or if one of you guys have one pm me.

the ecu goes into SAFE mode and gives you a low rpm and speed limit and stalls out to save the motor from bad damage.
this can happen if you have a odb1 ecu and obd2 dizzy or vice versa

pr4 ecu's came in both obd1 and obd0. If it's in a wagovan and is plugged into stock wiring, the ecu is obd0. If there is a jumper harness at the ecu, it's obd1.
Neither ecu looks for a crank sensor, all the sensors are in the dizzy. As long as the dizzy and ecu are the same obd you shouldn't have problems. If it has been converted to obd1 and is also using an obd1 dizzy, the problem could be in the wiring.

You need to address the wiring issues you have with the distributor and the ecu .
Code 9 is what your getting.. The ecu will not allow the engine to spin at high RPM if it doesn't know where the CRANK is.
You need to Check you ecu codes.. (google how to check honda ecu codes ) if you dont know .
My guess is that you need to fix the wiring at the distributor or the jumper harness is messed up .
the short anwser is your wiring is jacked... Put it all back to OBD 0 .. (stock) wiring.. it will run. But you need a obd 0 distributor
