just put a 2005 vtec motor in a 01 Honda. 05 motot did not have the vtec pressure switch or solenoid on it but system for 01 is looking for it , head off 01is no good 05 must use different system for vtec how do I fix the issue with out pulling motor out or swapping heads

 

The only difference between the 01 and 05 d17a2 motors that i know of is that the 04/05's have wideband o2 sensors.

So trying to figure out if your 05 engine is vtec or non vtec by the way you decribed it, sounds like its non vtec

 

I'm confused how did you put a VTEC motor in when it doesn't have VTEC components? If it doesn't have those it isn't VTEC.
