Default Modified Emissions Ticket HELP!! 27156b

Ok I need some MAJOR HELP!!

I was citied in the city of Glendora 2 days ago for "Modified Emmissions"

The cop initially pulled me over for a muffler I had, tint, and license plate light in back was out; I knew this was an excuse to get me to pull over, but I realize I was dumb for having all this done to my car anyways.. haha :X

Now after he pulled me over he asked me to pop my hood, which thinking I should just comply and he will let me go like the usually do I did(BIG MISTAKE!)

He continued to check under the hood and run the vin on my engine to see if it was stolen, which it wasn't and told me that my headers, intake, cam gears, and muffler were all "Illegal."

I know what I'm running under my hood isn't legal in CA, but heres a rundown.

1993 EG Hatchback DX
GSR b18c Head
JDM b16a Block
No name Cold Air Intake
DC headers
Cam gears are stock??.. so not sure on this one..

Ive been reading up on this issue and some horror stories which happened to others, and I want to know what my rights are, if I still have any, and what is the best way to go. I know if I go to the ref they won't pass me and I dont have the money to convert back to stock. I JUST GOT IT PAINTED LAST WEEK!! and swapped last year!!! I want to keep my car in the cheapest way possible, and if I can just go down and pay the ticket fine I will, if of course that waives the Referee...

ALL INSIGHT WILL BE HELPFULL!! I want to keep my EG, I love her!!

What are my options......
Pay the ticket?
Convert?
Junk it?(Car is already salvaged)
Part it out?

Thank you!!!

On a serious note, the cheapest would be to put the stock motor back in to get the ticket written off, then fix dumb **** that leads to a bigger headache ie. tint, loud/huge exhaust, burned out lights, no front plate, etc.

pay the fine which is usually $3xx and forget about it but you can still get another one if you get caught

the new law says you can't pass JDM motors anymore and since you have one your out of luck

you can either change blocks to a USDM, swap motors completely to USDM and try to pass BAR or put the old motor back in

I thought that this ticket is just a money grab by the GREAT state of California, figures after you pay the fine they forget about it untill you get caught next time.. lol

Well I would rather not swap my stock motor back in my car; for one cause I don't have it anymore, I blew it up and that was the main reason to swap the motor haha, and for two.. It would cost about 1000 to find a d series motor and get it swapped.. not doing that considering I've spent more than I would like to think about on this car.

Ill pay the ticket next week and let you guys know how it went.

Just fix your car from the outside and chances are you'll not get pulled over for stupid stuff in the future.

Buy an ITR muffler, about the same horses as your current muffler, plus it'll be quiet, look stock, and look good.

Weld some nuts on the header so you can 'install' a stock heat shield for poh-poh. They'll look right over it.

Get a CARB'd intake.

Your $3xx ticket is still not going to get CA out of the red. Tell your local rep to keep diggin, and hope it's not Pelosi.

Yeah thats what I've been doing..

Took the tink off yesterday, looks better without tint imo on white. Funny thing was a cop followed me for about 10 minutes today and didn't pull me over, I think not having tint is a big deal.

I wanted to look into getting a heat shield, but I'll figure that out.

As far as the muffler, I put my silencer back on so it's not as loud and doesn't look as sketchy in the poh-poh eye.

Just gotta get the money to pay for the ticket now, and next step is a turbo so I can run from the cops..

My first state ref ticket was $600.00 I could have put it back to stock, but I am moving to Arizona soon so I figured I would just pay it and not have to worry about it ever again.

You know what's funny..

I just paid $466 dollars for that ticket, which the ticket itself is just a money grab by the great state of California, and the next week I installed a Greddy turbo in my ****.. hahaha... my way of saying **** you California.. I'm doing what I want... well untill they pull me over again haha..

The way I look at it, a cop is only going to mess with you if A. Your driving stupid. B. Your car has tint C. Its loud as **** D. You look him in the eye when you drive by him.. and keep looking in the rear view mirror as he pulls behind you.. hahaha
