Default Mod legal issue

Hi, any information of the following issue will be fine. Was just wondering if there was any ideas for the bind im in.
Today tried getting my vehicle smog legal, keep in mind last 5 years i've had no issue w/ this same place. A new tech there failed me for modified pcv, or rather a aftermarket intake. The intake apparently is only legal for a 1999 civic and not a 2000. So I had to call aem for a new sticker, but now aem wont send me a new sticker unless I have some proof of purchase(which is understandable). But since I purchased this 5 years ago from a shop that went out of business I see no possible way to get one. So now im sort of in a bind, any ideas? And btw isnt it possible to acually press charges against this local shop for passing my car 5 years in a row but all of a sudden start to fail me? And reason for wanting to press charges is putting me into a position I have no way out of. If they failed me the first year I would have understood, but 5yrs down when there is no possible way for a proof of purchase.. I think is wrong.

Well for my personal opinion, I think you just need to find your stock intakeand put it back on=no more smog legality issues with anyone.. But, if you want to let them know your right, or whatever, explain to them the different models between 1999 and 2000 and explain that there are no major differences between the engines, because basically everything is the same... You might not need to go as far as pressing charges...
what model of car do you have in the first place...?
Go in an act like your a know-it-all and you shouldnt have any problems...and sound threatening...haha

Do you have any of the last smog reciepts? They should have listed your CARB number on it.

It's an AEM right? Does it say AEM on it anywhere?

I will check the CARB list and get you your number for your intake. 2000 civic right?
Part#22-417 2000 MY 1.6 liter VTEC Honda Civic Si
CARB # D-392-11 Good for short ram intake or cold air intake

The problem is that you need to show proof that it is an AEM product. If it is not stated on the intake. Or the part # is on the intake

Where do you live? Geeez, in Calif we are exempt for the first six years on a new car. I hope you don't mind but how much are smogs?

My intake carb #d-392-5-/ part#21-417 which is legal for 1999 civics just not 2000, why? iono know why but would like to know the difference. I think its total bs I cant get passed because I need a new carb number or w/e for this same intake. Believe me i would love to show proof of purchase but lets be honest a 5 yr old product?
