Default mixing blocks and heads

i am about to get a b16 block thats sleeved and bored to a 2.0. i am not sure on this but i was told i can put my 94 gsr head on it. is there anything that i need to modify? what arp headstuds do i need to get etc any help would be great!

Your good to go. ..

You need b16 head studs.

He would need GSR head studs not b16 studs.

well just had a problem with my stock gsr motor last night. got done racin a diesel lol and after that my car had no power and it sounds like a wrx. i think i blew a cylinder. now the car wont start at all so the project is going to start sooner then i thought. going to pull the head off today and check plugs for oil etc. then this weekend try to pull the block. man not having a daily sucks lol

well i picked up the block last night and pulled my head. i have a question on the built block it has indents on the tops of the pistons which look like it had some valves hit the tops of the pistons. its only on the exhaust side . i dont have pics at the moment but is this something i need to have looked at or should it be ok. The indents arent deep into the tops you can just tell that the valves hit them.

B16a blocks, because they are shorter than GSR blocks require B16 studs. B16B blocks require GSR studs because they are the same height.

yeah very true. mistake on my part i should have read his post better . i thought he was using a gsr block with a b16 head. but yes use the b16 studs because of their shorter deck height.
