I am really i need of solution that would get my car up and running. Should i go with a ZC motor? or a Mini-me setup (Vtec head on a non vtec block)? Pros and cons of each?

 

i would go with a "mini-me" they make about the same hp as the zc and the sohc vtec engines are very easy to find parts for. there seems to be a growing number of built d16 sohc motors. just take a look at the august issue of scc there was an article on all motor hondas and they talk about the motor in bisi ezerioh's car a d16 making 215 hp at the wheels its a low 11 second all motor drag car (hope i spelled his name right)

 

I would go withe the ZC. First of all its not a frankenstien motor and second, finding parts for a ZC isn't hard at all!!!

 

a minie-me is simple u just bolt on the vtec head to your block what could be easier the vtec head will work with the 1.5 and 1.6's no prob, most zc'c are not even real zc's just 1st gen integra motors and why bother going to the zc when it only makes i think 127 hp i think its the same as the sohc vtec motors. besides the mini-me yields a lil more hp because the compression ratio is raised i believe, maybe chk out the hybrid board or the old ones board (endyn) for more info and do a search on our board cuz i know this has been discussed a few times.
