MFR fix..is it worth it?
today i changed out my MFR to a new one i bought from acura..i figured $45+ship for new vs $30+ship for good used was better
i popped it open and its got the same dry joint i found on a tutorial thru google
who has done this and how well does it last?.. or is it just a quick fix to make it last another6 months or so?

If you repair the solder joint properly, it should be real good, not a quick temporary fix. It's probably from the manufacturer trying to set up his machine to make those joints too quickly & not quite hot enough. They're not manufactured by some guy sitting at a bench making each individual joint with a soldering iron...
