Default Metal head gasket?

Would it be safe to add metal head gasket to increase compression? If so, do I run the risk of detonation if ecu is left at factory setting on a 00'Si? What if I tuned the V-AFC for compensation? I'll also be keeping the stock B16A2 piston but upgrading the whole entire valve train.

Can anyone help? I'm gonna buy a Jun stage 2 or 3 Camshaft kit and need to know if this will help out since I'll be taking the whole top end out for port and polish.

ok..
you already have a metal headgasket on your Si engine.
rule of thumb: All B-series DOHC VTEC/NonVTEC and SOHC VTEC engines all use metal headgaskets ....from the factory.

I believe you meant a THINNER headgasket, right? Now, that will SLIGHTLY raise your compression (about .2 clicks). Its soo minute, you don't even need to worry about detonation at all, or anything...in fact, if you have a stock B16A or B18C1/C5 engine...

A VACF will have no direct control over compression either. That's only used to tune fuel and vtec crossover point mainly.
