I know this is somewhat off topic because its not a honda, but I could use the help.

89 Mazda 2200. It isn't getting any spark. It has an external coil, we replaced it, didn't help. I am wondering where does that coil get its power? Tried to trace the lines, it becomes hidden. How is the coil controlled? By the computer, or is it just a 12V? If it is just a 12v connection, can just rewire it to the battery untill we find the problem?
