Default malfunction indicator light

i just installed my aem cai on my civic and now my malfunction indicator light is on. how do i get that thing to turn off. Do i need to go to the Honda dealer or can i do it myself? Also should i buy a bypass valve or should i not waste my money.

disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and leave it off for about 10-15 minutes, then re-connect it again, this should put out the CEL. Sorry dont know about by-pass valve..try search function......
