Default Making a spring clutch disc a unspring disc...

Has anybody done this?
Stupid idea?

I will be pulling my tranny in a few weeks to replace the release bearing again (60K) and lube the input shaft on the transmission.

While it is out I will be inspecting the clutch disc once again.

Last time the springs had signs of wear and I know this time they will be near the end of their life.

I have another used ITR clutch disc and pressure plate (low miles) to install.... but wondered if anybody had converted a sprung disc to a solid disc... and if they have how did you do it?

The clutch friction surfaces had little to no signs of wear the last time it was out and I assume this inspection time the clutch will look like it did last time.... except the springs will be ready to pop out and ruin my day.

I would get a new/better disc but a new windshield, release bearing, and front wheel bearings have killed my x-mas gift fund.

Thoughts?
