Default Making the exhaust quiet =P

Yes, I know that I can search, but I have and nothing showed up. Actually this is just an extension on my last topic which sort of relates to this. This my brother-in-law's s/n by the way too; I'm just borrowing it.

Anyways, I have this OBX Greddy Evo Style muffler(OBX is crap, but it was cheap =\) and the question of getting a RSR EX-Mag or Magnaflow or ES-Oval or Mugen Twin-Loop or Greddy products are out of the question (I'm broke ;_ Anyways, I'm aware that OBX mufflers/exhaust have this extremely loud and ricey sound and I was wondering if I did a 2.25'' pipe with cat and a 22"+ resonator how quiet will it be? and what would happen if I had added another resonator along with the 22" current resonator? lol..sorry guys, I apologize for wasting H-T's bandwidth for this nonsense.

I drive a 1996 Civic EX MY CHAMPIONSHIP WHITE BUCKET

i took off my 2 1/2 straight pipe through a magnaflow muffler, and bought the STOCK piping and muffler through my work. (Pacific Honda) installed a test pipe with a dump tube in place of the cat.

its SUPER QUIET. I love it.

top end is gone, bottom end has more TQ.

but its quiet, and when i want to go to the track, i can use the dump tube.

Just keep adding resonators until it's quiet enough for you. As long as they aren't restrictive, it won't hurt anything.

Depends whether you want to have the shiny bits sticking out the back but I've got 2.25 piping to a 4" dia x 14" leng magnaflow with a turndown and it's great for stealth. It flows well as it's all but straight pipe and it just makes a deep grumbling when putzing around town without being loud or boomy, only downside is that at WOT it's fairly loud or on the overrun. Still it doesn't sound ricey at all and unless I'm in a tunnel the sound gets damped out by the scenery well unlike razzy sounding mufflers you can hear a mile away.

Edit: Good deal if you're broke, $50 or so for the muffler thru AJ usa and annother 100 for the piping and welding.
