Default Major headlight problem

I'm going through 4 bulbs a month!

Okay, first a little background:
Low beam: H1, Silverstars, last about 2 weeks
High beam: H1, bulbs came with headlight, have lasted 13 months

I've had projectors for about 9 months with wire connectors from TYC with no problems except flickering because the connectors would come loose. About 6 months ago I started using SilverStars low beams. They worked great for 4 months until I switched wire connectors, trying to fix the flickering problem.

I used some kind of twist connectors, from the auto department of Wal-Mart (SHOULD be able to use on a CAR). I used wrapped them (heavily) in electrical tape in attempt of keeping out water. But they have been burning out excessively and I want to sell the car w/o problems.

Is it the connectors causing the problem? If so, what type could I use? I know stock, but I don't have them anymore. It's strange that only the SilverStars are burning out. Maybe it's the combination of Silverstars/connectors. HELP!

THanks a lot guys

I will almost guarantee that it is the flickering caused by bad connections that is causing the bulbs to burn out that fast. Light bulbs would much rather stay on than be cycled on and off. Also, excessive vibration isn't good for them either. Do the TYC headlights mount as solidly as the stock units? If not, or if they are wobbly, that could be helping the bulbs go faster as well.

If you want it to be solid, cut everything and re-connect the wires properly, soldering if you want to put in the effort. If you just want to sell the car, I'd leave it as is. Tell the prospective buyer about it and you might have to take a bit of a cut in price. If it is that important that you get a lot of $$$ for the car, then fix it right.

The housing are very solid. There is no way the (new) connectors are causing the problem because they are also solid. I'm using the same connectors for highs and lows too...
