i have a b16 tranny, i broke the differential in the tranny right before i was scheduled to take my car to the body shop to be painted. so i just drove it to the body shop with the messed up diff and figured i could make it home when it was done im driving it home last night from the body shop and my car starts falling out of gear...this has never happened before. the tranny didnt have any grinds or anything. i was just trying to get the car home so i was going about 40 mph in 5th gear and it started falling out about every half mile. so after about the second time i just slowed down and went home the rest of the way in 4th. then it started falling out of 4th gear as well...once again id like to stress that my tranny was working perfectly before the diff broke...id like some input from people who really know their stuff because id really like to just fix whatever might be wrong rather than buy a whole new tranny.

I'm sure your aware the first mistake was driving on your apparent broken differential.

Popping out of gear could possibly be a bent shift fork, simply a guess. This could also bring up the question how the diff. was originally broken. Who knows whats going on in there now.

You won't truly know whats up until you pull the trans, inspect your clutch, and open the tranny.
