Default machine shop estimate.

i'm getting ready to take a bare A6 block into get honed and get the deck resurfaced. i called one of the only machine shops we have around here and they quoted me a price of $200 to get it done. this seems a little high to me. how much should i be looking to pay for a hone and resurface??
i don't want to get ripped off. please help.

If they do good work it's worth every penny. That is probably a little high for an an average shop, but not by much.

This is 2008, think about what everything cost.

Think about every step the shop has to do to perform what needs to be done.

Then think about all the expenses the shop has, yea all the expenses.

If the job is good, $200.00 is fair.
