Default LsVtec dudes

B18b with a Gsr head can I use the Ls thermostat housing or do I need to go with a different setup? Also wanted to hear some opinions on shot peening the rods, should I save the $60 if I only plan on taking her up to 8000? Granted I have already upgraded to Arp rod bolts

I'm pretty sure you can use any b series thermostat housing.

And I wouldn't shot peen them, as long as you got the rods resized you should be fine.

I would rather spend some money on spring and retainers.

The arp 2000 rod bolts should be sufficient enough for that low of a rev limit. Make sure to upgrade to a vtec waterpump and oil pump as well.

Ok so I bought some Acl Aluglide bearings and after receiving them I realize that the rod bearings have holes drilled into each half. I know the factory ones did not have these holes. Should I go ahead and use them even though the holes are literally useless with the stock ls rods?
