First, I'd punch in the mouth whoever left your crank pulley loose. Can you describe "spinning freely" a bit more? Like a whine, groan, grating sound, etc?

yeah i hear you there..lol but anyways it sounds like when i rev it up and let off the gas and it comes back down in the rps it sounds like something is spinning in the timing cover. almost like the belt is hitting the cover but its not its a metal to metal sound and when the whole thing happend i tour the whole side down to look everything back over. and noticed that the washer that goes on before the crank pulley and the covor was rubbing up agianst the crank pulley. becuse it was making this noise before the pulley acually came off. so i replaced everything. the lower timing gear and the washer and the crank pulley and stated it and its making the same noise all over agian?? im lost

X2....i'm stumped....i have a LS/VTEC also and i aint gotta clue....
i'm curious to what it may be.....

BTW.... there SHOULD be 2 washers.....1 against the oil pump...and the other i believe goes on AFTER the timing belt gear on the crank.....so in other words...first washer....timing gear....second washer....

please correct me if i am wrong....
