Default LS/VTEC Running Rich???

How can I fix the problem on a LS/Vtec thats running rich. It only blows out alot of black smoke when you punch the gas. The setup on this motor is Skunk2 intake manifold on a stock 99 GSR head, and the block consist of just US spec ITR pistons. What do I need to do to solve this problem? Friend is buggin me about it.

If you are running the factory (i.e. GS-R) injectors and ECU, check the vacuum connection between the FPR and Intake manifold. If there is a vacuum leak there, then this would cause the car to run rich. Then there's always the possibility of a faulty MAP sensor, et...

Good luck.

Yeah, I use the GSR fuel injectors and the ECU. What else could cause this problem?

What year is your car, and what year is your motor?

If you have a fuel pressure regulator you need to adjust it if not buy one the risen you are runing rich is b/c the ecu is advancing the timeing. that makes the injectors flow more fuel then needed. that is why you are runing rich. it gust needs to be adjusted it will not smell or black smoke will not came out of the exhaust.

Have had the same problem as soon as I started my ls vtec turbo
My setup
B16 si head
B18a1 block
Rc 330cc injectors
Edlebrock victor x mani
Turbo probably pushing around 8psi
Unknown ob1 computer
The car turns out even without the map sensor, when connecting idle does up and down until it settles, when revving it with the map sensor connected it Boggs with no smoke from exhaust. When the map sensor is disconnected car revs fine but lots of black smoke from exhaust.
Any causes can help?

Get it tuned/

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but it is what it is. You don't know what ecu you have and your guesstimating 8psi. Educate yourself on your setup before you drive it and it blows up.
