Default ls vtec problems

well i just got a ls vtec its a A1 block with a gsr head. well im using a ls head gasket and it leaking oil. is that the right head gasket im suppost 2 use or is there a aftermarket one i have 2 get

You should get the head gasket for the head you have despite what other people say, so you should get a GSR HG. You also need the LS/VTEC dowels to make the head and gasket line up correctly. Put the gasket on dry, just as it comes. If it still leaks, you need to take the head to a machine shop and get it resurfaced.
