my car over heats when i put in my thermostat in and it a new one. the water pump is new and the fans are working. i running it with out one now and it heats to like 160-170 but with the thermostat in it goes to like 225. whats causen this?

 

check all coolant lines

 

check coolant lines, thermostat, and headgasket. i had the same problem. i had to replace my headgasket and it stopped.

 

have you burped/bled the system. Could be an air buble

 

try to switch to 160 degreez thermostat and burp the system.And check ur radiator cap.(presure check)
