ls/vtec blockguard and girdle quesiton.
hey guys,
I am building a ls/vtec. We have no machinists here who can sleeve a motor, so can I just use a blockguard up top and the z10 girdle below, with new rods, pistons and **** and spin to around 9000 or so?

me and non-VTEC just got done with a long discussion on girdles https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=149694

And by the way, dont use a block guard on the top, it dosent let coolant into the top of the water jackets, this is the howwest part of the cylinder and needs the most cooling, plus the top of the cylinder does not recieve the most side loading, from the piston, this is at mid cylinder, look into getting the block posted instead. and if your just really concerned or if you plan on running more than 12-13 psi, sleeve the block.
