Default LS/VTEC ARP head stud problem, help!!

I know you are supposed to use the head studs from a GSR for LS/VTEC, but I am trying to finish up my conversion and the damn APR head studs don't fit into the threads on my block. I held them up next to the bolts from the GSR, and even the old ARP studs from when I had the LS head on. Its not a different thread pitch, the new ARP studs for the GSR head are too big in diameter, so they wont thread in at all. I got the right ones according to the part number on the box, and I bought them new from Lightning Motorsports. So I'm pretty sure they just boxed them wrong, the stock head bolts from my GSR block screw in fine.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Don't all B-series blocks have the same thread pattern for the head studs, my block is a '01 B18B1 and the head is from a '95 B18C1.

yes they have differant part numbers but the thickness is the same for both, 11mm. so he did get the wrong ones. wheather he baught the wrong ones or got them mispackaged, i dont know. eitherway to resoloution is the same....take em back and get replacements, oh and bring a stock bolt there with yah to match it up.

I called Lightning Motorsports today, where I got them, he said just send them back and he would send me another set of them. It was the right part number, the studs were just packaged wrong ar ARP's factory I guess. Thanks for the info though.

haha all b-series blocks have the same thread pitch. You sure you threading in the correct side of the stud? or maybe you some messed up threads in the block.

haha I know how to install headstuds, they gave me the wrong size we already figured that out. Its an LS block and I was worried that the GSR headstuds from ARP didnt fit cause it wasnt a GSR block, but I remembered I had some stock GSR headbolts and they screwed in fine so I knew they just sent the wrong ones.
