Default LS rods VS GSR rods??

Hey guys, I'm in the process of building my B20 shortblock. I was just wondering if I can use the GSR rods (longer than the stock b20) with the stock b20 crank and pistons to gain some compression? It is a NA application, and daily driver. Thanks in advance.

Thegsr bearings arent as wide as the ls,i dont know if this would be a major problem,as ive never tried it.I think the pistons would stick pretty far out of the deck,so if youre going to try it,youd better clay your engine to make sure theres no interferance.

Well you'll PROBABLY(don't know for sure) have to do some machining to get the rods to fit properly. After that you will need a piston with the pin jammed way up in oil control ring completely throwing the centerline off(unless you run some spacer or thicker head gasket then I know of to keep the piston below the deck line). You will sacrafice cylinder wall life but will have a better rod ratio and be able to spin the stroke easier. It's probably not wise to do this unless you are building a drag motor.
