Default loud bang and then...... (cable b16 tranny problems continue)

i heard a loud bang and then the car died , started it right back up and couldnt get it in gear. The clutch is about a month old . The tranny was installed the same time as the clutch (thanx HMO ) At time of instalation honda m/t fluid was used. I was also hearing alot of grinding and whining noises . Any ideas as to what could have exploded

Possibly the diff. Either way, if it wont go into gear with the car on or off the tranny needs to come out. Pull it out, and either take it apart and fix it or just sell it as is.

If the case and/or internals aren't all damaged you will be lucky, start looking for another gearbox.

or you could have blown, one of the mainshaft's bearrings! you'll have to open the tranny case, to find out the real reason why the tranny did what it did

I beleive you are correct, but he can drain the fluid and see if any metal gear chunks fall out before he pulls the tranny.
