Lost the ONLY key
So awhile back I sold my daily eg sedan to a kid, who traded it to another kid who lost the key and the title before he could get it registered in his name.
I got the title situation figured out. Now i'm just looking for a way to get a key to match the doors/ignition without getting a new column and lock cylinders.
Any Suggestions?
TIA

whys it your problem? you sold the car. but You can try calling the dealer and having a key made from the vin, BUT you will have to go there with proof of ownership and an ID. So the current owner will have to do it. I dont know if they can do that on older cars though but its worth asking
I say, get a new copy of the title in your name, call the police, tell them the kid stole the car, keep his money, and get the car back and then worry about the keys.
But really, the new owner needs to go to the dealer with the title and ID and get a new key made.

I did the same thing with my eg coupe about 2 weeks ago, you need to bring the title or proof of ownership and ID to the dealership and they will make you a spare key, I think they're about $4.00 each and only takes about 10-15 mins.
Very simple the registered owner of the vehicle with proof and a valid state id can go to any honda dealer show them the stuff and walk away with a key for around 10 bucks. Must have both items though. Only on "older" most pre 90 hondas do you need to remove a lock for the code and the easiest one to remove is the glovebox lock. Good luck
