Lost Motion Assembly Question
I have a very loud ticking sound coming from my B20 Vtec. The motor is still in the break-in phase with less than 100 miles. We tried doing valve adjustmests but the sound is still there. Another guy suggested my LOST MOTION ASSEMBLY are bad.
1. Does anyone know anything about LMA?
2. What is the LMA purpose?
3. What other symptoms might I look for to be sure it is the LMA that are bad?
4. Know any place I can get ITR for cheaper than $38 a piece?
I searched but did not get any useful info.

The LMAs are there so that while vtec is not engaged the rockerarms dont make the ticking noise, it is like a little dampener for the vtec rocker arm. The only way i know to check if they are bad or not is to pull them out and see if the LMA comes out as one piece or if the top part is already seperated from the rest of the assembly. I have been told that once the top piece becomes detattached from the rest of the assembly the LMA is bad. From the symptoms it sounds like the LMA is shot, what type of head/cam are you running?

I read something about that too. Do you think I should replavce them with ITR LMA anyways?
