Default loose sterring wheel....help.........!!

hello everybody.
for about a month my sterring wheel in kinda loose at the center.

when i turn the wheel left & right i here a ticking sound at the center position.

a frined told me that that it's just a bolt to tighten up? what bolt is it??

I REALLY doubt it is just a bolt. Sounds like your "friend" does not know what he is talking about. Take the car to a mechanic and get it checked, it is probably one of the four tie-rods that is loose.

the whole sterring was refurblishd last year...

what could lt be??

how is a tie rod look ?

can i fix it on my own??

dont play with the tie rod ends unless you have an alignment machine and a lift at your disposal....youll cause yourself a world of hurt unless youre very very familiar with steering and suspension principles.

Basically the tie rods connect in the front just behind the brake rotor...there is a joint which extends to the tie rod itself and then into a black boot (which is your steering rack). Usually if you have small arms you can reach under the backside of the wheel while the car is on the ground and grab the tie rod and shake it around to hear if anything is loose and you can sometimes squeeze in with a flashlight to visually inspect it.
