I was having a problem with high pitched noise also. I have a Greddy Evo off a 4-door which eliminates the cat completely on my 2-door. So I was thinking about getting a high -flow cat welded in, but it seems from this post that a resonator would work better? Input??
Thanks.

the best resonator i have found PERIOD for the money and effectiveness is sold a parks automotive for like 14 bux

just go in and ask for a 14" resonator without pipe ends, it should be painted flat black and have a spiral internally i think it is sold in 2.25" id and 2.5" id and they work AWESOME.

i HAD two of them on my car and it was wonderful. quiet and deep, too bad someone stole my entire exhaust system and i now have the definition of rasp for an exhaust note.

Maybe Im stupid, but the description of this (even though it says resonator) confuses me. Will this help to decrease sound???
Thanks.

it will quiet your exhaust down if you are running only a testpipe
but if you use it in place of your cat your exhaust wil be louder

run it in conjunction with a cat or a test pipe to quiet down an exhaust...but damn that one is expensive as hell

if properly installed, the right length, and item can help your system out.
it will clear and clean up the sound of it.. they should be straight through design, to make sure you dont "kill" the flow,

main thing between a cheap and a good resonator, is what they are made of and how they are made.. cheaper and thinner material, often dont help with the rattle and vibration, or buzz sound.. air is forced through them at just high rates, the thin metal vibrates and normally ends up rattling on something of your car.

in a sense they are like mini mufflers..

I got the resonator installed today and I must say that the high-pitched loudness is gone. Its still not as deep as I wanted, but I can live with it now. THanks for all the advice!!
