Default longer wheel base better for traction.

Is say a longer wheel base like the integra or coupe better suited for getting traction to the ground as opposed to the eg hatches.

Longer wheelbase will give you better traction for accelerating and decelerating, but not cornering.

It's why they put wheelie bars on civics. Less weight transfer.
