Default lil help here, b16 problem.

ok currently my jdm engine (B16a 2nd gen) started make this loud clank sound but to me its sounds like its coming from the head, my last b16 engine broke the same way but it was the rods bearing that Fd up, so i think its a valve or something in the head. My question is would it be costly to have the head repair or get a new one? would it have damaged the block and pistons? OR should i dump the whole engine and get a b20 block? I would like to go turbo in the future and would getting a b20 be best and more reliable than fixing the b16? Also would my lsd tranny with act clutch kit and dc header fit on the b20?

sorry for all the questions but i want to get my car moving again. and currently the money is slim in my pocket (after buying my dc header and new bumper with lip kit).

Or anyone have another direction i should go with the car that i didnt mention?

did you missshift or anything? because a valve just doesnt bend for no reason...
clank or knock? could be your rod bearings again?

more of a clank clink sound, the engine idles fine the rpm are fine no vibrations, not like on the old enigne. i dont recall misshifting or anything.

and for the engine i was thinking about changing to is the integ ls, not sure if thats a b20 or b18a/b.

well, if you think its comming from the top end do a leakdown test to pinpoint the problem...if you would have a bent valve like you describe, then the idle would be screwed up.

integra=b18a/b

ok i am no machanic but my buddy checked it out and it is my rod bearing again. I guess i was in denial. but he says he can get me a good b16 block but the usdm b16a2 block. would that match up fine, i know the jdm has high comprssion but would that change to the usdm spec even with a jdm head?
