Let the Hate begin....
OK so I have a dilema that I need help with, I am looking for input from everyone here, so please feel free to offer your 2 cents.
I currently have a civic (93 hatch) with the following engine specs:
1994 USDM B18C1 Gs-R
B18B USDM LS Crankshaft
Stock OEM Gs-R Rods
Shaved Gs-R Pistons
New OEM Honda Rod and Main Bearings
Stock Head (cams and valve train)
Bolt ons include:
Skunk2 (1st gen) Intake Manifold
Skunk2 Throttle body
Megan Racing Header
King Motorsports Intake and Exhaust Manifold Studs
Moroso Breather Tank
OEM Oil Cooler
The engine was built by a well known shop and has only 5k miles on it.
The engine only has had Motul Chrono Engine Oil
I do not know what hp or trq the engine lays down, it has not been dyno tuned.
The transmission:
Stock USDM 1994 Gs-R Hydro Transmission 5 Speed (no grinds) unknown mileage
ECU:
Stock P72 obd1 Gs-R ECU
Stock axles and Gs-R wiring harness
Polyurethane filled engine mounts
Stock B series Shift Linkage
I use the civic for NASA HPDE events, and Autox. It rarely sees the street. The car has also won multiple car shows.
So back to the dilema.
I enjoy the swap, its very effective, well balanced and pretty quick. I know it also has a ton more potential. My goal with the car is to have fun on the track, maintain excellent reliability, inexpensive repair costs, and a shot at the getting featured in a main stream import magazine.
I recently began looking into other options of achieveing the above and at the same time looking for a way to be different in a community that seems to all have the same look and drive train now a days. I do not have the money to go k-series or J-series,I have had D-series, B20's, and have no desire for an H22 or H23 and everyone seems to have a turbocharged B series nowadays. So I stumbled across a deal to trade for a complete F series swap and a turbo kit.
The specs of the possible trade are as follows:
F22 vtec (from a 95-97ish accord) unknown mileage (bone stock)
Wiring Harness
ECU (stock)
New oem clutch kit (oem type)
Shift rod assembly and shifter
Mount Kit
Accord Intermediate Shaft
Integra axles
Ebay Intercooler and Piping
Stock Injectors and resistor box
Greddy (tiny) turbo
Ebay Turbo manifold (not the log type)
FMU
Oil lines
Wastegate
Etc Etc.
*The person is a performance Honda shop owner and is also including the labor to remove my engine and swap in the above. Labor includes everything but tuning.
So my dilema is: Am I a complete idiot for wanting to trade my swap for the turbo F? OR can anyone out there see the potential to make decent power and be different by doing so. If you were in my shoes would you do it? Why or Why not? Please especailly if you autox or track your car, or work for, or know someone that works for a magazine provide your input as to wether or not this is a good idea.
Keep in mind the only thing up for debate is wether or not to do the trade. I have no intention of listing the other car mods or posting pics and Im not wanting to debate as to wether or not my car is good enough to make a magazine.

I appreciate the rather blunt input, I hope that other HT members will begin to respond soon.
I do feel that there is something to gain with a mag feature however that is not the debate. To trade the b for the Fturbo...or not!?
BUMP

you want in a mag putting a pos accord motor in your car wont do it lol. you want different get a s2000 motor make it rear wheel. or put the legend type2 or 3.5 motor in it, keep the one you got boost it or make it unique some other way,
What makes the accord engine a POS?
I do not have the funds to go K series so I def cannot afford to do the F20C swap.
I also cannot afford to do the J series as stated in the original post.
The debate here was wether or not I should trade the B18C1 for the F22-Turbo and nothing more.
I do appreciate the fact that you gave your 2 cents. Thank you for that!

Why would you trade the build you just did? Don't you have any pride for the build you just completed? Did you ever want an F22 before? Sounds like this guy wants what you ahve so bad and realizes that you just might be that stupid.
