I want to reduce the steering pump boost but do not want to completely eliminate it. Anyone tried under driving it with a larger pulley? If yes:

Was it worth it?
What make and size pulley did you use?
Price of pulley?
How difficult to replace the pulley?
Can it be done with the pump in the car?

 

To under drive the pump you would want a smaller pulley on the pump.

 

Isn't

Smaller pulley on steering pump = more rpm thus overdrive?
Larger pulley on steering pump = less rpm thus underdrive?

Remember, the drive pulley on the crank will be the stock pulley.

 

Yeah- a larger pulley on the pump = slower pump. A smaller pulley on the crank = slower pump.

 

Does the amount the PS pump is driven really affect how much power steering assistance there is? I don't think I notice much of a diff in PS if I drive at 5k rpms compared to me driving at 2k rpm... at least its not noticeable to me.

 

It would only be noticeable when trying to steer extremely quick
