Default Knocking on startup

Always when I start my car up for the first time or when its had enough time to cool down (like 30 mins in 50 degree weather) I get a kn0ocking noise for like 2 seconds then no more. The car then runs SMOOTH. Any ideas.

ASlso this is an EK with a B16A2 with ITR valves and valvetrain, ITR IM, and 11.3:1 CR. Also timing is set at about 18. Also I think it makes that noise at 16.

mine makes that noise too,

stock B16A with K&N pod filter.

i think it sounds like a'knock' ie pre-detonation.

not sure why, but cause it only happens at start-up, i never really thought much of it...

its sound from the driver side.....near the timing belt area. My belt looks STRAIGHT on the alt. Also I noticed that the belt (with the cam gear cover off) has a slight flexing (as in the belt sways/waves) of about 1/5 a cm. Is this normal....or should I maybe try and tighten it up. Hmmmmm.........

if its a hard metal sound there is a 100% chance it is a main bearing. when you first start your car you have no oil pressure. when there is no lubrication you can hear your knocking thats a rob bearing.

I just replaced the bearings. Its like if you tap on wood lightly.......Ill check the bearing when i put in my new motor.

What kind of pistons are they? With my experience JE's make lots of noise on a cold startup....almost like detonation, but it's piston slap.
