does anyone know what makes the k24 engines different from one another.... i know all of the specs and i know that the k24a2 out of the tsx is the top performer but is that because the block is better or does it have something to do with the head and/or compression please help

well the K24A2 has a better head and higher compression ratio than the others K24. It's got the same head as a K20A2 except for smaller ports, what I mean is that it has vtec on both intake and exhaust unlike the others K24.

 

K24a2(TSX) has real VTEC(Intake and Exhaust). The K24a1,K24a4's, only have VTEC on the intake cam., simalar to the EP3 K20a3. Also the K24a2 does have a higher compresion ratio. If you can't get your hands on a K24a2, you can always swap a A2 head onto a K24a1 block, great setup for boost, and you dont have to screw with the water port thats on the K24A2. Or you can swap in TSX internals or aftermarket internals for a NA build.

 

i guess i am basically askin are the k24 blocks all the same and the only difference in the engines is the heads
