Default k20a head

I posted this in the all motor section but I think this would be a better place. We are currently planning on building a new engine and was told to use the k20a head. I see there is a k20a, k20a1, k20a2, k20a3. Are all of these the same casting or are each one different?

also the k20a from japan is what came off the jdm type-r better casting. they used a finer sand for the ports to have a better finish

So it is infact a different casting? The ports are not a big deal at all they will be reworked completely. I thought it was the a2 I wanted. Thanks for the help guys.

I've heard the casing on all K's are the same, including K24's. as long as they ahve the LMA's.

i read on this through honda tuning that the finer sand treatment was only done on the r-models as was the hand porting done to the b-series type-r motors
