hey all, I'm looking into starting a new project car. My budget for everything starting out is going to be 10k-11k canadian funds. I was thinking I could pick up a pretty junk eg for less then 1k, have that up to code, and painted for 2k (doing the body work myeslf). Anyways would 8-9 grand be enough left to do the swap? just wondering approximately for those of you that have done it, about how much did you pay?

I know on hmotors, a jdm k20a goes for $5600 and a usdm k20a2 is only $4000. Is the k20a really worth the extra $1600usd? what are the big defferences between the two other then 20 crank hp?

H motors charges $450 for a hasport kit, which im guessing consists of just mounts? after that its another $350 for the axel kit, do I need the axel kit for the swap?

In the end thats $4800usd for everything for the k20a2 or $6400usd for the jdm k20a2. Add about $450 for shipping. Canadian funds said and done it would be approx, $8220 for the k20a or $6300 for the k20a2. Thats almost 2k difference that is gona be hard to justify.
