Default Jun Stroker Kit for B16B- Is it Safe to bore to 82mm??

Hi Guys, I have been looking to purchase the Jun Stroker Kit for my B16B. The stroker will bump me to a 2litre with a bore of 82mm and a stroke of 94mm.

My concern is that it would require me to re-bore to 82mm, is this safe or would I require strengthened sleeves etc...

I did actually email Jun but no reply. I did speak to Toda to see if they did a similar 2litre stroker kit and they said they never developed one as from there research it wasn't safe to do so.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Rick

82 mm is only 1mm bigger than a stock bore on a B16. You are paying for the crank that has the 94mm stroke. Stock B16 is 77mm. Having you block bored to 1mm bigger will not hurt it. When you get into the 85-87 range then you run into cooling issues and cracking sleeves. Just my.02 Good luck..

NO dont listen to him he has no idea what hes talking about, 82mm is very unsafe on stock sleeves, and you CANNOT bore to 85-87mm, even on aftermarket sleeves thats getting up there

You can bore in the 85-87 range, it just wont last. Last yeat they had a 2.0L Integra that was all motor running the Eagle stroker kit. It was in Drag magazine,I didnt make the number up, its what I have read from people that actually have the setup. Ask the people that have done it. InlinePro... 703-455-5805

If you dont think B series blocks can be punched to 85mm talk to alternativeauto. I have seen his AEBS block sleeved to 85mm. It can be done...

Hi Guys, thanks for the info, keep it coming as it seems to be different opinions. The car isn't a daily driver but then again its not just used for the drag stripe. It covers about 4K miles a year, manly just used at the weekend for pleasure.

82 should be fine. In the import tuner contest someone ran 83.

82 is the max I would go.me and some friends are building a 82mm gs rmotor now, and there is not a whole lot of sleeve left. They are stock sleeves. For everyday use don't go above 82 stay around 81.5.If its a race car i would say go as far as you can.

you'll be fine with 82 mm; 83 is pushing it considering the shitty RS ratio that 94mm stroke will give you. I don't know if the kit has a raised height wrist pin or what not.

to the guy that sayd you can bore a stock 81mm b-series to 85-87; please do NOT missinform people, if you dont know what your talking about dont post; since some idiot might read that and actually do it.
For your information; stock b-series steel sleeves are only about 3.5mm and the whole sleeve about 6.7mm thick.

you do the math...
