JG Engine Dynamics Built B16 HEAD & Questions.
My b16 head work was done by JG Engine dynamics a couple of years ago, port and polish, valvetrain, etc etc. I decided to go ahead and put a motor together using that head and since it was all done at one place, didnt really want to expect any of the parts. I installed the head on a b18c5 short block with some ITR cams. The motor was pretty strong. Had that setup for over a year. Then decided to go ahead and build a LS/VTEC. Before pulling the motor out I noticed loss in oil after 1500miles of a oil change and slight smoke from the exhaust. Pulled the motor out, took the head off and started to take the head apart. All the valve seals on the intake side had the top part torn off. I realized that I only had double valve springs on the exhaust side? The intake side was only single spring. (Thought it was more important to have dual spring on intake side than exhaust side, in my case I was supposed to have BOTH dual springs on intake and exhaust. The valve springs were the tall kind.) All my intake valves were bent. But didnt show anything on the pistons from a valve hitting. I also noticed a stamp on the side of the head (warranty void if stamp is removed) and was leaking oil from there also. I emailed JG and they didnt know anything about what kind of stamp it was. I also mentioned my valve springs issue, I got a reply back agreeing to how it should be the other way around. I was supposed to get a call from JG. No calls, sent another email and no reply.
