Default JDM Type R Front Conversion

I am thinking about getting the JDM Type R front for my 95 gsr. I would like to get some recommendations on where to purchase and where to install/paint. I am in the bay area but will travel to southern cal if needed. Also, what is so special about the HID that it runs $500 more than the non-HID?
Thanks

hid bulbs, ballasts, ignitors are more expensive than 9005 or 9006 bulbs.

My friend is planning on a s15 conversion, but he has a JDM ITR conversion for sale now. Believe he is asking for $1600, and we're located about an hour and a half away from San Jose (North). Have a good painter as well, but not sure how much he wants to charge. PM me if you're interested.

Thanks,
Jay

I would recommend you getting aftermarket HID instead of the factory because the factory HID aren't that bright. Have a couple friends in the city that has them, personal I rather get the aftermarket ones. HID Plus, I can get them for $400 and has two year warranty.

uuhhh??? are you alright in the head? Aftermarket HID's are not brighter than the OEM HID . They may have a higher kelvin but that doesnt make it brighter. JDM ITR HID are probably the best you can get. They offer the best beam pattern. With aftermarket HID's you wont get as good light spread out because of the projectors. The OEM HID's have the best beam pattern and will not have hot spots on the ground. Just because an aftermarket HID says "6000K" does not make it brighter. It only talks about the temp. of the light. 4300K is much brighter than 5000K or 6000K. 4300K will give you better light output. I think the brightest is like 4120K or 4200K... somewhere around there not exactly sure. MTK knows! lol... Trust me and go with OEM HID. well worth the extra cash... maybe you're just saying this to sell the HID kits you have i don't know...
